Sea Ranch Activities
Tennis, Swimming, Hiking: Renters are issued passes that give access to the three Sea Ranch recreation centers, each of which has tennis courts and a heated pool. The 200 miles of Sea Ranch hiking trails provide opportunities for wildlife photography, birding, mushrooming, and views of spectacular coastal scenery.
Kayak / Canoe Rentals: River kayaks and canoes may be rented by the hour or day at Adventure Rents in downtown Gualala. 707-884-4386
Golf: The Sea Ranch Golf Links is a public golf course located at the north end of The Sea Ranch. Designed by Robert Muir Graves, the course was one of the first Scottish Style links built in the Western United States and has been widely acclaimed for the manner in which it blends into the landscape. 707-785-2468
Other Activities: In the fall and spring gray whales may be observed on their seasonal migration between Mexico and Alaska. There are numerous art galleries, boutiques, and restaurants in Gualala.
Fort Ross State Park: fifteen miles south of The Sea Ranch is the site of the southern most Russian colony in America. The reconstructed fort and chapel with their distinctive Russian architecture, housing Native American and natural history displays, are well worth a visit.
Nature Walks: The first Saturday of every month, between March and October, The Sea Ranch Trails Committee leads a nature walk. Subjects of the nature walks may be wildflowers, or the seals, or just about anything that is part of the natural environment of The Sea Ranch. In general, these walks are not strenuous. Homeowners, renters, and guests of homeowners are welcome. To participate, just show up at the Del Mar Center by 1:00pm on the first Saturday of the month. (There are no nature hikes during the months of November, December, January, and February.) Make sure you bring a hat and water, and that you wear appropriate shoes.

Sea Ranch Volunteer Fire Dept. BBQ: Memorial Day & Labor Day Weekends All-day, family event at One-eyed Jack's Playground on the Sea Ranch supports the efforts of the men and women volunteers of The Sea Ranch Fire Department.
Gualala Farmers Market: Saturdays from Memorial Day Weekend thru October at the Gualala Community Center. Saturday morning at the Gualala Farmers Market is the place to find seasonally available fresh fruits, vegetables, preserves and bakery goods as well as plants and flowers. Fort Ross Cultural Heritage Day: Fort Ross's biggest event of the year. Visit the Russian pioneer outpost, re-created as a state park. Heritage days feature demonstrations of how life was in the early 1800s on the rugged Sonoma Coast. Bring your camera! Dogs are not permitted past parking lot. Art in the Redwoods Festival: Third weekend in August. All weekend at the Gualala Arts Center. Fine art, music, food and drink.
15th Annual Studio Discovery Tour: First two weekends in September. Open tour of dozens of artist studios extends from Jenner to Elk.
